Uniswap is beginning to show bull market numbers...

Volume on Uniswap hit $71.6 billion last month. That beats Coinbase's volume by a huge 45%, according to data from The Block.

It’s the second month in a row that Uniswap has seen more volume than the most well-known crypto exchange, marking its best month since January 2022 and the end of the bull.

And it's not just Uniswap that's feeling the good vibes

Trading volume across all decentralized exchanges has increased +160% this year.

Why? Maybe crypto users are getting savvier.

At this point, we've all seen what can happen if you leave your crypto in the hands of a League of Legends-addicted CEO with an ego issue...

Also, here in the bear market, there isn't an influx of new users who need the fiat offramps that centralized exchanges provide.

– and, that lack of connection to banks and TradFi also seems to mean DEXs don't attract regulators' attention.

At least, not in quite the same way as CEXs like Coinbase with their flashy TV ads and lofty political ambitions.

MetaMask finally drops a token NFT view for Chrome

Sometimes you don't get the Web3 news you want; you get the Web3 news you ...need?

While Crypto Twitter is clamoring for a $METAMASK coin to be airdropped to frequent users, the digital wallet company has shipped a far less exciting, but undeniably practical feature.

Now, you can view your NFTs via a tab on MetaMask's Chrome extension.

MetaMask says that "all ERC-721 and 1155 tokens should appear as long as automatic NFT detection is enabled."

Alongside the new feature, you should now be able to send ERC-721 tokens through your Chrome extension. 👍

Coming soon: the VR treadmill that inspired Ready Player One

Snowcrash, the 1992 book by Neal Stephenson, rightly gets attention for being the novel that coined the term "metaverse," and one of the first books to lay out the Web3 dystopia in all its glory.

But if you want a book that bought the metaverse fully into mainstream consciousness, look no further than Ready Player Onethe story about a hunger-games-style virtual tournament that became a 2018 Speilberg blockbuster.

In that movie, characters interact with the metaverse or OASIS (Ontologically Anthropocentric Sensory Immersive Simulation) via a nifty treadmill device – which lets them wander virtually while remaining physically still.

Turns out, that treadmill was initially based on a real product made by a company called Virtuix.

And, after a decade in development, you'll soon be able to install one of Virtuix's "Omni" devices in your own home.

The Omni (as in omnidirectional) uses low-friction shoe covers and a sliding platform to let you "walk and run in 360 degrees inside VR games and other virtual worlds."

So you'll never need to touch grass again!

Decentra Daily is brought to you by Ledger

Is it really fine though? Storing cryptocurrency on an exchange can be a risky business.

Don't play with fire - choose a hardware wallet from Ledger to keep your coins and NFTs where you can see them.

That's the whole point of the blockchain, right?

Ledger offers:

  • 3 different wallets & price points to match your needs (inc. the new Stax)

  • Support for NFTs + tons of cryptocurrencies

  • A team of security experts working around the 🕰

Things are fine until they're not. Pick up a wallet from Ledger and thank us later.
