First up this week, @nftnow on the Nakamigos phenomenon

Nakamigos is the 20K pfp project that's taken the NFT market by storm this week.

Created by mysterious HiFo Labs, with a name that references Bitcoin's founder, and artwork said to be made by an "OG crypto artist," there's speculation that Nakamigos could be a follow-up to the popular mfers collection.

In this thread and article, NFT Now gives you the TL;DR on Nakamigos, including how holders are granted commercial rights to monetize their NFTs, plus the 24 honorary Nakamigos airdropped to well-known figures in the NFT community.

Nakamigos registered more trades than BAYC's total no. in a matter of days and has seen 10K ETH in volume so far – with some huge returns if you can time the market.

Second, @alex_valaitis debates the future relationship between AI and Crypto

This thread by Alex Valaitis gets stuck into the relationship between AI and crypto.

Both are popular, emerging technologies that do cool things with data – crypto decentralizes data, while AI centralizes it into models that generate original content.

So how will crypto and AI overlap in the future? Alex says that the blockchain could help prevent issues of censorship, bias, and provenance related to AI.

On the flipside, AI could help us accelerate smart contract and dApp development.

@MariaShen puts some numbers on how the US is quickly losing its edge in blockchain development

Check out this Electric Capital report shared by Maria Shen, which shows how US-based blockchain development has dropped, from 40% to 29% of global activity.

Emerging markets such as India, Ukraine, and Southeast Asia are conversely gaining market share.

The report also says that the total number of blockchain devs has increased by 297% – with 1 million jobs predicted by 2030 if development growth continues at the same rate.

On the web3 wire

Most Y00ts are now on Polygon 🏡Over 75% of Y00ts holders have bridged their NFT to its new blockchain home.

Italy bans ChatGPT due to "privacy concerns" 🇮🇹It's the first western country to ban a consumer AI product, citing concerns about how ChatGPT collects user data.

Elizabeth Warren is recruiting for an "anti-crypto army" 🪖Warren is redoubling her efforts to eradicate crypto as part of her re-election campaign.

Here, @DuneAnalytics explains their new GPT-powered feature, which just made SQL querying a lot easier

We like Dune. Dune dashboards fun are interesting.

Dune Dashboards are also pretty hard to create if you don't know how to write SQL queries.

Not for long! In this thread, Dune Analytics announces the launch of GPT4-powered Query Explanations, helping users understand and program queries in natural language.

The thread sets out Dune's LLM roadmap, which includes a chatbot to help users navigate the backend of the platform.

On the subject of AI making things easier, @heykahn explains how AI has been helping you out for years already

Feeling anti-AI recently? In that case, you better delete Google Maps and stop using Siri.

In this thread, Zain Kahn talks about the current and future impact of AI on our lives, with the claim that 1 in every 5 jobs will soon be affected by the technology.

Zain notes that AI has been present in our lives for at least a decade already – and since Google invented Transformer models in 2017 – its presence has been rising exponentially.

Nobody knows for sure what will happen next, but maybe the best future is one in which we use AI to eliminate the mundane tasks people hate, freeing them up to focus on higher-level or more creative activities.

@Taylor_Peter99 updates us on Adidas Virtual Gear

What, you thought Nike was the only global sports brand pioneering the avatar wearables space? Please. Let iwasrich.eth update you on what Adidas is doing in web3.

The Adidas Virtual Gear collection (aVGs) is being developed through the brand's own Bored Ape, Indigo Herz. It's been in the works since last May's "Adidas Originals Meta Capsules," which came with different traits and rarities.

After a series of community votes and a "treasure hunt," the metadata of Adidas's capsules changed to the Adidas IMPOSSIBLE BOX collection.

The plan with these is to produce interoperable PFPs wearables that can be used in 3D games and metaverses.

@davincithreads explains how Yuga's Legends of the Mara will ⬆️ Koda utility

Legenda of The Mara is a soon-to-release NFT strategy game set within Yuga's Otherside ecosystem.

One of the most interesting things about LoTM? The game will give Kodas – the Otherside's cute, digital "keepers" – a whole bunch of utility.

Here, @Davincithreads explains how Kodas will become decoupled from Otherdeeds, creating a separate marketplace where they can be traded individually in ETH or ApeCoin.

Check out the thread for info on the different types of Kodas, stats, weapons, armor, etc. Plus how you can use them in LoTM.

In this thread, @VisualVichaar tries out the new ChatGPT web browser

In this thread, Manoj gets early access to the Chat-GPT internet browser and shares his experiments with us.

After testing out the interface by asking it to find URLs from specific websites, retrieve relevant news, and compare the prices of Bitcoin and gold, Manoj gives the browser a 👍

ChatGPT browsing mode will use Bing's search API to provide a more conversational and personal search experience.

And finally, @venturetwins shares how Midjourney is rewriting history

Remember the Great Cascadia earthquake that destroyed half the PNW in 2001?

How about when Trump was arrested and manhandled through Manhattan?

Justine Moore shares a Midjourney subreddit devoted to AI images of surreal and alternative histories – including photos of alien leaders at the White House and Elon Musk dating GM CEO Mary Barra.

One of the most impressive things about these AI fakes is the authentic film grain or TV resolution, matching the time period.

This week, we got the first viral AI images, in the form of the "Balenciaga pope." What will next week bring?

I'll see you in the next Decentra Daily 👋
