Welcome back to Decentra Daily, here are the top Web3 stories you need to know from the past week.

1. The Otherside First Trip

  • Over 4,500 Otherdeed and BAYC holders participated in the tech demo, dubbed the First Trip.

  • This was powered by Improbable, who Yuga Labs partnered with to build their metaverse.

  • The First trip took over an hour an a half, where Voyagers (Otherdeed holders) saved some Kodas, powered up an Obelisk, and fought an evil boss.

  • The metadata of Otherdeed's was updated if you participated in this trip, and will continue, so if you have an Otherdeed, make sure you get in on the next trip.

2. CryptoPunks sales

  • Two Ape CryptoPunks sold in the past week, for $2.62M, and $3.3M USD respectively.

  • The seller of the above CrypoPunk locked in a $7M loss (and I thought I was a bad trader).

  • There are only 24 Ape CrypoPunks, making them some of the rarest.

3. OpenSea lays off 20% of it's employees

  • Due to the crypto winter we have entered, OpenSea let go of 20% of it's staff.

  • This was to give them the runway to operate for the next 5 years based on current volume.

4. Three Arrows Capital saga gets crazier

  • Read the above tweet and you'll probably scratch your head! We don't blame you.

  • Co-founders Su Zhu and Kyle Davies made a down payment on a yacht worth $50 million...looks like they got ahead of themselves.

  • Davies wife was approved for a $65M loan.

  • Zhu and his wife purchased two homes in Singapore for $28.5 million and $48.8 million in the last two years.

  • Liquidators say 3AC continued to trade cryptocurrencies instead of responding to margin calls from lenders.

  • Genesis lost almost half a billion dollars through 3AC.

  • Zhu is filing a $5M claim against 3AC, and Davies' wife for $65M (wtf!).

  • In summation, these boys were very naughty, and lost a lot of people money!

5. Aku is on the cover of Time Magazine

  • Aku, a little black boy who questions "can astronauts be black?" is going to be on the cover on Time Magazine.

  • The title of edition will be called "Into the Metaverse".

  • Created by form MLB player Micah Johnson, Aku is the first NFT character to secure a major TV & film development deal.

6. Sturdy Exchange integrates Dapper Wallet

  • Sturdy Exchange is a FLOW marketplace, focusing on music NFTs.

  • They have integrated with Dapper wallet, before this, they were completely siloed.

  • Sturdy Exchange is home to the first generative pfp on FLOW - Hoodlums

Whale Watchers

Here are the NFTs high net worth wallets (whales) are minting and buying today.

Minting

Just a friendly reminder that there are big time NFT and ETH whales still minting new ENS names by the dozen every day. We’re still early, and this is the equivalent of buying up .com domains in the early days of the internet. Have at it! You can mint through the ENS website, or purchase on OpenSea.

Buying

Cool idea, by owning one you earn $LUFT tokens, which you can then burn to “buy” future airdrops. Basically creating a marketplace of eligible airdrops for holders, but you decide which ones to purchase, 0.021 ETH Floor.

*Disclaimer: I just bought one. What can I say, I follow the whales.

The book written by Jenkins the Valet writers room (with Neil Strauss). The NFT will also be burnable for an item in Azurbala, their metaverse which looks dooooope, or staked for governance tokens in Hawthorn, a community DAO. There are 3 versions of the book with a 0.36 ETH Floor.
