Market sentiment analysis: The NFT market is currently still in a lull. If we take Bored Apes and Mutant Apes as what Bitcoin is to crypto (king). We can see that there has been about a 50% retrace from the highs of a couple weeks ago in terms of USD value. The floor is holding between 95-100 eth for Bored Apes and between 19-21 eth for Mutant Apes. We are currently in a holding pattern….is this the bottom? There may be more hurt to come, but it’s hard to know with much certainty.

On today’s docket:

  • World of Women goes Legally Blonde

  • Winners and Losers of the day

Game of Thrones: Celebrity NFT Edition

Queen of the Unburnt NFTs, Breaker of Blockchains, the First Mint of Her Name, Mother of Degens. Reese Witherspoon is the Daenerys Targaryen of NFTs, let’s hope her fate is better than that of the ‘real’ Daenerys.

“They can live in my new world, or they can die in their old one.”

Hard to know who said this quote, Reese when talking about NFTs, or Daenerys about taking the Iron Throne. Either way it is relevant.

Let’s have a look at Reese’s NFT collection, but remember, if you’re too critical it might be more than just your NFTs she burns.

Notable NFTs (and purchase price):

  • World of Woman: #6403 (69 eth), #5059 (25 eth), #6451 (12.5 eth), #1467 (4.5 eth), #8072 (2.95 eth), #526 (2.95 eth)

  • Cool Cat #3130 (13.95 eth)

  • CloneX: #19571 (25 eth), #2547 (16.95 eth)

  • Bored Ape Kennel Club #7754 (10 eth)

  • Deadfellaz #4989 (7.69 eth)

  • Metahero #1848 (5.9 eth)

  • Murakami.Flowers seed (minted)

Other notable NFT projects in her collection: RTFKT airdrops/claims, Boss Beauties, Crypto.Chicks, The Flower Girls, Meta Angels NFT.

What we like: Reese is definitely championing female led projects. She posted about the purchase of a World of Women on October 21st, giving her 2.9 million followers a heads up that she’s into NFTs.

Reese asked the NFT community for help finding “amazing women creating NFTs”, and as we know it is hard to find women in the NFT space at times, and even then you can’t be too sure….with the original Fame Lady Squad found pretending to be a team of female founders.

Reese’s Woman #8072 matches her IRL aesthetic, repping a similar style blonde haircut. Maybe the blue skin isn’t a match, but perhaps it’s alpha that Reese will star in a future Avatar movie?

Having WOW, Boss Beauties, Crypto.Chicks, and Meta Angels NFTs in her wallet shows Reese’s commitment to supporting female builders and representation in the NFT space.

Reese also owns CloneX and Pixelvault NFTs showing that she has an eye as a savvy NFT investor of projects that are capturing mainstream attention.

RTFKT who made the CloneX NFTs, was recently purchased by Nike, Inc. Marking Nike’s biggest venture into the web3 space. Nike products are a staple of pop culture, a good start for RTFKT.

Pixelvault founder Gfunk announced at VeeCon (Gary Vaynerchuk’s conference) that Pixelvault partnered with Major League Baseball, Dana White (UFC), and Blur Studios (big deal). Giving credibility to Reese’s Metahero.

What we don’t like:

It’s hard to fault Reese on much of her collection. Last week we knocked Justin Bieber’s collection because he overpaid for many of his NFTs.

The same can be said for Reese….although she dollar cost averaged into World of Women quite nicely, with her first purchases at 2.95 eth (great buys!).

The wind has been sucked out of the Cool Cats sails currently, with the floor sitting at 3.35 eth, meaning Reese’s Cool Cat purchase is probably overpriced (although it’s rare).

Another thing that we noticed is that Reese has not staked her Metahero for $pow, Pixelvault’s gaming token. If Pixelvault indeed executes on their vision the $pow that Reese is missing out on could be worth a pretty penny.

I suppose that Reese, similar to Justin doesn’t care too much that she’s missing out on some profits, or paid slightly too much for some of her NFTs. When your net worth is north of $100 million, what’s a few hundred thousand spent on NFTs (a drop in the ocean).

Letter grade: B+

Reasoning: Reese has gotten her hands on lots of ‘blue-chip’ NFTs in the form of CloneX, World of Women, Pixelvault, and Bored Ape Kennel Club. She also has bought what she is passionate about…projects empowering women. So you can’t fault her passion which has translated to a solid collection. Slight overpayments stop us from giving her collection an A. But for now she’s our Queen of the North.

Winners and Losers

Winner: Probably Nothing Genesis - Floor Price Up 95% (0.17 ETH Floor) in the last 24 hours

A free-to-mint utility pass that actually looks like it’s delivering. Access to multiple in person events, allowlist to other projects, and they just signed some sort of deal with warner music for a collab. @jeremyfall.eth seems like a founder to follow.

Loser: Lazy Cubs Official - Floor Price down 33% (0.098 ETH Floor) in the last 24 hours

Part of the Lazy Lions ecosystem, just another derivative similar to mutant apes where you feed your Lazy Lion some sort of drink NFT, in this case juice or milk, and get a baby version of your lion. Yawn.
