Pixel Vault Founders DAO and PUNKS Comic 3 Announcements

Market sentiment analysis: Today we have seen another slow day in NFT volume with just $1.6m (1.52k ETH) transacted on OpenSea. Floors of many ‘blue chip’ projects have been holding strong in terms of ETH value, and have bled a little bit in dollar value this morning as ETH is down 5% on the day. Bored Apes are sitting at a 90 ETH floor, and Cryptopunks at 65 ETH, both seemingly stable for now.

Pixel Vault Founders DAO getting perks!

It was no secret that GFunk was going to announce some big news for Pixel Vault Founders DAO holders this week at NFT NYC.

Holders were definitely not disappointed, as Gfunk addressed a room full of supporters at one of the Pixel Vault hosted events during NFT NYC.

Here is a run down of the bombs GFunk dropped wearing his freshest zip up hoodie, and looking super cute:

• 50/50 royalty split on secondary sales of Founders DAO tokens (once the legal wrapper is finalized by Jacob Wittman - General Counsel at PV)

• Founders DAO holders will receive a free profile picture NFT created by Odious (designed w/ community input). Secondary sales will again be split 50/50 with the Founders DAO

• Pixel Vault genesis tokens (Founders DAO token, Mintpass 1, PUNKS Comic 1, and Metaheroes) will be given the first chance to mint a PUNKS Comic 3. This is by individual token, not genesis set.

Let’s dive into the implications of these a little bit more.

DAO Revenue and Community Generated Content

The Founders DAO has been thinking of creative ways to build alongside Pixel Vault. They recently passed a Community Generated Content Initiative, to incentivize active participation from the community.

A reward pool of 200 Mintpass 2’s was established that will reward the creation of specific types of content around the Pixel Vault ecosystems: PUNKS Comic and Metahero Universe. Don’t mess these two separate verticals up, or GFunk and Economist will come for you!

Now that Pixel Vault is going to provide royalties to the Founder DAO it will provide more flexibility for the DAO to build, as it will have a treasury. Before now the DAO was mainly relying on the assets it was holding, and not the inflow of any revenue. In this ‘bear market’ it is especially hard to let go of assets deemed undervalued by the DAO.

We can already see what a little incentive for community content creation can provide, with bevs.eth (@bevs809) creating an almost 2 minute long video explaining the perks of the Founders DAO.

Another example of great community content is from the MetaVault team, generating a podcast and newsletter, which has been a great resource for the Pixel Vault community.

MetaVault has been retroactively awarded 12 Mintpass 2’s to reward the content they have created. Taking the total Mintpass 2’s that were approved for giveaway by the Founders DAO to 212.

One last example of Pixel Vault holders empowering the community is through weekly Twitter Spaces. Villansky.eth (@villainsky_) has been hosting spaces for the Metahero Universe community, covering various topics, last week's episode featured @MixOnSight covering the following topics:

As we can see there have been community members willing to put in work for free because of their passion towards Pixel Vault. It is great that the DAO can reward them with NFTs, and will soon have revenue to continue building alongside PV.

Founders DAO PFP by Odious

Talented artist and PV team member Odious is going to be releasing a pfp for the Founders DAO. Each will be uniquely generated using traits made by Odious, with input with the Founders DAO community.

Odious released some information about the possible options for the pfp, and we’re excited to see what he has come up with!

There will definitely be demand outside of the Founders DAO for an Odious pfp, so secondary sales should provide a nice source of ETH for the DAO.

There has been no word on if a snapshot has been taken yet, so we are assuming if you purchase a Founders DAO token you will still be eligible for the free pfp.

PUNKS Comic 3 Mint

As mentioned earlier, holders of genesis tokens (not sets, you whales), will have first dibs on minting PUNKS Comic 3.

It is going to be a pack style drop…..oh god, this is giving me PTSD (Post Top Shot Disorder). In all honesty this sounds fun, so you’ll open a ‘pack’ and in it will either be a Comic 3, or a genesis pixel vault item:

• Founders DAO token

• Mintpass 1

• PUNKS COMIC 1

• Metahero Generative Identity

It is not confirmed if any Metahero Core Identities will be included, but it appears 16 are in the PV wallet.

There will be over 1,000 PV genesis items ‘won’ during the Comic 3 mint, with exact numbers TBA. However, the likelihood of getting a valuable asset appears to be decent. We do not know the exact mechanics yet, so we will hold off on speculating how likely it will be to get a genesis item vs. Comic 3.

Pricing for the mint has not been released.

How Pixel Vault will avoid asset dilution

A recurring concern with PV has been with the number of NFTs their ecosystem’s have in them. The release of PUNKS Comic 3 and more genesis items into the open market signals even more PV assets. However, there is seemingly imminent utility for most items they are releasing through this mint:

1. PUNKS Comic 3: Can be paired with PUNKS Comic 1 & 2 to complete the PUNKS Comic set, which will allow for the free mint of a PUNKS pfp developed by Chris Wahl.

2. Metaheroes: September is the aim for some form of blockchain game(s) where it is believed MH’s will earn $POW. Additionally, the UPDAO may vote on approving another staking period for MH’s to passively earn $POW from the UPDAO’s reserves.

3. PUNKS Comic 1: (See point one) as well as generating $PUNKS, which may have some use in the form of future mints, and represent fractional ownership of 16 Cryptopunks.

4. PV Founders DAO token: Receive revenue from secondary sales of FD tokens and the Odious pfp, the pfp which FD token holders will receive for free.

5. Mintpass 1: Can be redeemed for a Metahero or will enter you into the remaining Core Metahero raffles.

We are excited to see how Pixel Vault continues to build, now alongside a funded DAO, with a soon to come identity through Odious.
