So much more than a Valet: Jenkins
Soon after Bored Ape Yacht Club released their NFT collection, Jenkins the Valet was born. A Bored Ape with a persona, aimed at stewarding decentralized storytelling.
Created by Tally Labs, a content and technology company, Jenkins is bringing to life NFTs, starting with Bored Apes.
Jenkins the Valet released 6,942 NFTs in their initial Writer's Room NFT drop, and soon after signed with Creative Arts Agency (CAA) to represent them across books, film, TV, podcasts, and more.
This is big…CAA is an influential talent agency that knows how to get their clients (and their products) in front of the masses.
Writer’s Room NFTs
The 6,942 NFTs that Jenkins released, gave holders the ability to collaborate with Jenkins/Tally Labs on content across different mediums, starting with a book.
Members were, and are able to vote on the direction of stories, and also able to license their own NFTs, or partner with others, to have them appear in Tally Labs produced content.
Future endeavors will not be purely Bored Ape specific….and we hear if you spam the Jenkins twitter account they may include your community next!
Here are the different tiers of writers room NFTs, and what roles, voting power, and other perks they receive:
Role in content: Avatars licensed with Ticket NFTs are included in the acknowledgements of Bored & Dangerous.
Voting power: Ticket NFTs come with 5 votes on every creative proposal over the direction of Writer's Room content.
Other perks: Ticket NFTs come with all other perks and have the opportunity to receive the fourth largest set of DAO governance tokens.
Role in content: Avatars licensed with Key NFTs are included as a group in unique art inspired by the plot of Writer's Room stories
Voting power: Key NFTs come with 10 votes on every creative proposal over the direction of Writer's Room content.
Other perks: Key NFTs come with all other perks and have the opportunity to receive the third largest set of DAO governance tokens.
Role in content: Avatars licensed with Stand NFTs are illustrated as an extra in the book written by the Writer's Room.
Voting power: Stand NFTs come with 50 votes on every creative proposal over the direction of Writer's Room content.
Other perks: Stand NFTs come with all other perks and have the opportunity to receive the second largest set of DAO governance tokens.
Role in content: Avatars licensed with Yacht NFTs are featured as characters in work created by the Writer's Room
Voting power: Yacht NFTs come with 215 votes on every creative proposal over the direction of Writer's Room content.
Other perks: Yacht NFTs come with all other perks and have the opportunity to receive the largest set of DAO governance tokens.

If you licensed your BAYC/MAYC there's a good chance you'll be able to spot it in the newly released 'Where's Jenkins' image:

Bored and Dangerous book
The first undertaking of Jenkins the Valet was the Bored & Dangerous book, where Writer's Room holders were able to sign a licensing agreement with Jenkins (through a nice and easy to use portal on the Jenkins website).
Revenue of the Bored & Dangerous book will be a 50/50 split between licensors and Tally Labs. There were 4,075 Apes/Mutants that licensed their IP to appear in the book.
The Bored & Dangerous storyline was developed with community input via voting, and then brought to life by the words of Neil Strauss. Yes, the Neil Strauss that is a New York Times bestseller!
We can’t wait to read the book and see how all of the different licensed characters fit in!
Mint
The Bored & Dangerous mint is at 7am PST/10am EST on July 11th. Here is the breakdown of the release:
Public Sale: 2,367 NFTs - True Dutch auction (trustless refunds). Price starting at 0.8 ETH and dropping 0.05 every 15 minutes until sold out, or a final resting price of 0.2
WriteList: 11,517 NFTs - Will be open for 48 hours after the public sale. Price will be the final resting price of the public dutch auction -25%. Eligibility for WriteList:
Own a Writer’s Room NFT (6,942 WL spots)
Licensed a BAYC or MAYC (4,075 WL spots)
WriteList puzzles, giveaways, and community allocations (500 WL spots)
Free Claim: 6,942 NFTs - Existing Writer’s Room NFT holders will be able to claim for free
Whilst there is not a large amount of Bored & Dangerous NFTs for public sale we are betting that there will be plenty available on secondary, from Writer’s Room holders looking to recoup their initial purchases in the Jenkins ecosystem.
Revenue for holders
As we know, holders get 50% of Net Profits from this mint, so let’s take a look at what holders can expect (don’t quote us on exact numbers).
These numbers are pure speculation, but if the public sale mints out at 0.3 ETH….and WriteList at 0.225 ETH. That would equate to 0.3 x 2,367 = 710 ETH (public sale) + 0.225 x 11,517 = 2,591 ETH (WL sale). Bringing us to 3,301 ETH in total from the sale.
After Jenkins takes their cut (50%), it leaves 1650 ETH to be split amongst 4,075 licensors.
That equals 0.4 ETH ($495.99 USD) per license. However, these numbers estimate all Writer’s Room holders WL mint at 0.225 ($278.99 USD).
When taking this into account the value proposition isn’t bad for Writer's Room holders…..0.175 ETH ($217 USD) and their Bored & Dangerous NFT.
Again, these numbers could vastly differ depending on mint price. And if you had a Writer's Room NFT and partnered with an Ape then you will be splitting the profits at whatever ratio was agree upon.
We like that existing holders will make some $ and receive an NFT, however it would be nice if there could be more public minters, so the existing community wasn’t funding the majority of Net Profits.
The Jenkins adventure doesn’t end at Bored & Dangerous though….
Azurbala and Hawthorn DAO

!Bala as the locals say in the Jenkins discord, refers to Azurbala, which is a mythical land that you can enter by burning your Bored & Dangerous NFT for an Azur Root, which is then redeemable for a Citizen of Azurbala PFP.
Check out the interactive Azurbala website if you want to see the vibe of it, but we’re envisioning a game of sorts…maybe futuristic Game of Thrones type feels?
If you don’t want to enter Azurbala, then you will have the ability to stake your Bored & Dangerous NFT in Hawthorn, which is a DAO for collective creativity.
You will receive tokens (+ bonus if you have a Writer’s Room NFT), and as such, a Foundation governed by Hawthorn members will receive partial ownership and governance of IP in companies that hold characters and worlds such as Jenkins, the Mutant, Goodboy, Azurian Legends, and Azurbula itself.
If you want a more hands off approach we would recommend staking in Hawthorn DAO.
BUT! If you want to be involved in a potential game then burning could be the right move….AND there will also be $MARROW earning in the future (P2E).
How to get involved
The best way to get involved in Jenkins the Valet will be dependent on what you are looking for.
Genesis Writer’s Room NFTs will continue to give revenue, and allow you license your own NFTs, or partner with other NFT holders to get characters in the Jenkins IP universe.
If you want ownership or governance of various Jenkins adjacent projects then staking the Bored & Dangerous NFT in the Hawthorn DAO may be your best bet.
And if you are a gamer, you could grab yourself a Bored & Dangerous NFT to burn to enter Azurbala!!!!

Recent Hires!
One of the things that stands out for Jenkin’s the Valet is their team. They recently hired ThreadGuy.eth (@notthreadguy) as the Director of Vibes…a world's first position title we believe, and we don’t actually know what he does when he’s not taking duckface selfies, but he’s doing something right, and getting more eyes on Jenkins! Whilst being a positive influence on the space.
Another strong hire was getting Bored Apewood (@boredapewood) added as their Director of Web3 Strategy, he’s a notable figure in the world of NFTs, so looks like a good fit, and can hopefully be a good mentor for ThreadGuy.
Emma Needell was brought in as the Head of Story at Tally labs/Azurbala. Emma was featured on 2020 Forbes 30 under 30 list, for her accomplishments around screenwriting. Emma has worked with Oprah Winfrey, David Oyelowo, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett.
