Little AI: the real future of artificial intelligence?

Midjourney’s idea of an AI toaster
Here’s an interesting idea – from a LinkedIn post! (I know 🤷)
Think of an AI future, and what do you imagine? Robot dogs and Walgreens delivery bots roaming the streets. Automated factories building fully self-driving cars. Authoritarian corporations using super computers to predict our every behavior?
Well, maybe the real future of artificial intelligence won’t be about automation or megacorporations (though I’m sure they’ll exist too). Instead, we could see AI hit the mainstream through hundreds of little, everyday applications.
This post from Martin Harbech, a Group Director at Meta, highlights the startup Clockwork who are using AI to offer nail painting services in select Target stores.
It shows how the growing accuracy of today’s AI tools can be harnessed to up the efficiency and quality of daily tasks:
Toasters and coffee makers that whip up a perfect breakfast, every time. Lights that predict how tired you feel. A Peloton that builds workouts based on your daily fitness levels. Sounds good to me!
Web3 and AI are two tech spaces pushing us into tomorrow’s world – but they rarely combine. At least, not in ways that put AI front and center. When are we going to see an interesting AI NFT project?
Does one already exist? DM us
Maybe I should start a collection of AI household objects:

We hope Pranksy doesn't realize that an Autoglyph 458 sold......have a look what Pranksy sold it for 3 years ago:

cryptoslam
Here's a lesson on how to make $308,037.81 in 3 years.....buy an NFT and hold it. Class dismissed.
We think Pranksy is doing just fine financially, we we aren't too worried he'll regret this. Maybe all the Bored Apes he sold early haunt him?

Bruce Willis’ digital twin

TL;DR
Last week, a false story about Bruce Willis selling his face to AI was trending
Willis actually only appeared in a deepfake phone ad
But, Hollywood has been using digital likenesses for years
It’s only a matter of time until an actor gives away full rights to their virtual self
Here’s a story that’s not true but should be. Reports over the weekend circulated about Bruce Willis selling the rights to his face.
Articles claimed those rights were going to be used in the production of a digital twin, which will be harnessed by AI to cast Willis in future movies.
It’s not true, though – with Willis’ management saying that he has "no partnership or agreement" with any deepfake company. But that doesn’t mean it’s not a good idea!
In fact, Willis has already worked with deepfake company Deepcake to produce a Russian phone ad:
Yep. That’s not Bruce!
Even though the concepts of digital twins and intelligently reanimated humans sound like plot points from a decent Willis flick, they’re fast becoming part of mainstream tech.
Current movie franchises have been using machine learning and archive footage for years already, to recreate actor likenesses. When an actor dies but their character needs to live on, computers can step in to imagine their face & voice.

Lucasfilm
Deepfakes have also been used when actors can’t be on set due to safety concerns, are involved in real-life controversies, or age out of their roles.
Earlier this year, Willis was diagnosed with aphasia, which causes speech and recall difficulties. So there’s obvious utility when it comes to AI and disabilities, too.
It’s easy to imagine a cascade of future uses for digital twins that will emerge alongside evolving tech:
Actors could sell their likeness to brands without needing to travel to photoshoots or film ads.
Celeb virtual assistants could guide users through apps or help them purchase services.
Hollywood studios can start promoting Iron Man 56
So, Bruce might not be the first Hollywood actor to sell his rights to a company – but someone soon willis be.
