GPT-4 is blowing minds

Ok, so I am fascinated with AI! You may have heard that OpenAI just launched GPT-4. Which is more powerful than Chat GTP-3.

This technology is going to reshape our world. If you aren’t familiarizing yourself with it, you’re going to get left behind.

Check out this official explainer video by OpenAI at the very least:

The most important things you need to know for GTP-4 are:

• Multimodal input: The API now accepts images to generate captions and analysis

• Increased reasoning capabilities: In the BAR exam GPT-4 scored in the 90th percentile, and 99th percentile in the Biology Olympiad

• More creativity: It can generate, edit, and iterate with users on technical writing tasks like writing songs or screenplays. It can even learn user’s writing styles (good luck Universities)

• Longer context: GPT-4 can now handle over 25,000 words of text. Allowing for long form content creation, extended conversations, and document research and analysis

• This shit is going to change the world

But! before I get into the killer applications people have started using GPT-4 for, I want to give you my Wiggles list of what I will use ai for!

1. Automated Compliment Generator: AI will detect when my girlfriend is feeling down, and then send her a stream of compliments in text message form. Best. Boyfriend.Ever.

2. Virtual stylist: AI will scan my wardrobe and suggest outfits based on the social setting I’ll be in. Dress for success, I don’t trust my own choices.

3. Personal DJ: I don’t want to constantly look down at my phone and change tunes, I want AI to know I sat down to work, and turn on my classical music, or when I pick up a weight at the gym, to start blasting gangsta rap!

4. AI Therapist: I’m cheap, I don’t want to pay for therapy, I’d rather have an extra 100 bucks a week and suffer from crippling anxiety than actually face my issues. But with AI I will be able to have my behaviour analyzed and be provided a personalized therapy plan to overcome anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. Save that $.

5. Time Travel Companion: Ok, I don’t know how this will work, but according to the internet GPT-4 can do anything, so why not aim for the fucking moon.

Drug discovery

With a currently available drug, GPT-4 can find similar compounds, modify them to avoid patents, and purchase them from suppliers. Insane. Disclaimer: do not try and make your own drugs at home you degens.

The following thread covers:

• Data Analysis: Provide image/text input and GPT-4 can act like a human analyst

• Research and summarization made easy: Provide PDFs or figures and ask GPT-4 what they are explaining.

• Customizing GPT-4 responses: Want it to always respond in json? French?

I think I may have found the best invention ever….a copilot for parents, you no longer have to raise them on your own.

Turning hand-drawn sketches into functional websites

Creative people will no longer be stifled by their lack of technical abilities. Sure it can’t do everything, but for concepts this is a game changer. Imagine a website developer asking an interior designer “draw me a quick sketch of what you want your website to look like”, and bam a website appears!

Code video games in a matter of seconds

Pietro recreated a game of Pong in under 60 seconds. Game development is going to change.

Smart contract (or code auditing)

Conor inputed an Ethereum contract into GPT-4, and in an instant it highlighted numerous security vulnerabilities and where the contract could be exploited. It even gave him a specific example of how it could be exploited. Amazing.

These use cases above are just the beginning, over the coming months and years we are going to witness insane use cases. The ethical and legal limits are likely to be pushed. We are witness.

Our grandparents told us war stories. We will tell our grandchildren that we witnessed the birth of AI, and that’s why we are living in prison cells, ruled by our robot overlords.
