GM daily-ers!

GM and welcome to Decentra Daily.

We're the newsletter that can't rest until we've found the best web3 threads and stashed them safely inside our emails.

Psst! Have you started our rewards program yet? ๐Ÿ‘€ โฌ‡๏ธ

Today,

Web3 threads of the week

@waleswoosh explains why Blur could be responsible for the recent drop in floor prices

Despite what other CT influencers might be saying, @waleswoosh is convinced that the upcoming Blur airdrop (Feb 14th) is the reason behind this sharp drop in FPs.

They explain that whales have been propping up market volume by bidding, buying, and selling like crazy on the Blur marketplace, to accumulate points before Blur's airdrop rewards are dished out.

As that date nears, nobody wants to be left holding NFTs that they bought purely for airdrop points โ€“ so bid activity is slowing, and the hot potatoes are getting hotter.

@xClearHat dives deep into claims of Dookey Dashers cheating using bots

There's no doubt that games like Dookey Dash can be "botted". But how many players attempted to cheat their way to a high score, and how many escaped Yuga's "validation" process?

In this 43-tweet thread, @xClearHat says that Dookey Dash's build was not difficult to hack.

Apparently, it was possible to access each game session's "course seed", which allowed cheaters to generate the exact architecture and course map of their run, then feed that info to a gameplay bot.

There are other accusations in the thread, such as how earlier builds kept the game's rules in an unencrypted file โ€“ and how it may not be possible to separate clean runs from botted ones via Yuga's "manual" validation...

@OnChainMonkey duplicated themselves onto Bitcoin, making their FP โฌ†๏ธ

Here's the first of 4 threads on Ordinals for you:OnChainMonkeys was a relatively standard 10,000 pfp collection, whose floor price was languishing <1 ETH โ€“ until a couple of days ago, when they announced that the entire collection had been inscribed onto Bitcoin.

Owning an ETH OCM means you also own a new BTC OCM, so the project effectively bridges the two chains (similar to another Ordnails project featured below).

On the web3 wire

Dookey Dash was played for a cumulative time of 80 years ๐ŸŽฎGood news for Yuga and others building web3 gaming experiences.

Kraken shuts down crypto staking for US customers ๐Ÿ˜•And, despite Coinbase's resistance, other exchanges could follow suit.

GordonGoner writes letter to end conspiracy theories โœ‰๏ธBefore taking a health sabbatical, the Yuga founder tackles toxic allegations.

@dotta shares their favorite, more accessible BTC Ordinals collections so far

In this thread, @dotta rounds up their fav Ordinals collections in the 1,000 - 3,000 range, inc. Bitcoin Apes, Inscribed Pepe, and Plein Err.

Is there a bunch of spam and graffiti at these price points? Yessir. But @dotta also thinks there's a chance to find original, early artworks from notable creators.

Now we just need ERCs for Ordinals to make them easier to find.

@Bullkis1 on an Ordinals collection that's bridging ETH to BTC

@Bullkis1 is sharing the deets on On the Edge of Oblivion, a collection that's making waves on Opensea by being the first project that bridges Ethereum NFTs to Bitcoin NFTs.

In other words, OtEoO gives you exposure to Ordinals without having to do anything technical, like run a node โ€“ or sketchy, like make an OTC trade.

@rodarmo, the creator of Ordinals, tells haters where they can go

Last Ordinals thread. Here are some spicy words from the protocol's creator, @rodarmo, about the tension between BTC "purists" and his new inscription process.Casey says his team will be focusing on improving the efficiency of inscriptions and staying transparent.

@sgsand1 on the NFT events that should drive action over the next months

Ok. Enough Ordinals for this email. Here's a list (not a thread, soz) of upcoming events in the space with the potential to be game-changers and market movers.Among @sgsand1's picks: The digidaigaku free mint during this weekend's Super Bowl.

@hmalviya9 on the basic thought processes behind NFT investing

Here, @hmalviya9 lays out the basics for thinking about NFTs as long-term investments. ๐Ÿง

Depending on the type of NFT you're considering, you'll want to run a basic checklist of the fundamentals.

For example, is a pfp collection successfully achieving the network effect โ€“ and have you done your due diligence on the artist behind the OE you've got your eye on? โ€“ and remember, almost all projects will go to zero on a long-enough timeline.

@BookVolts on why you should keep an ๐Ÿ‘€ on NFTs in the publishing industry

In this thread and a linked article, @BookVolts compiles some hot takes on web3 publishing. Will literary NFTs give writers more freedom and flexibility? Produce a new type of cross-genre on-chain art? Become a genuine rival to eBooks? ๐Ÿค”

And finally, @javilopen shares the ultimate compilation of powerful AI prompts

Last up this week, @javilopenthe emerges, bleary-eyed, from a months-long battle with AI bots to give us this list of advanced AI prompts to end them all.

Mainly for use on Midjourney, these prompts span 7 categories including Video Games, Graphic Design, and Interior Design

โ€“ and the images @javilopenthe can achieve by using them are pretty stunning.

Have a gud Super Bowl & see you in the next Decentra Daily ๐Ÿ‘‹
