Doodles and Golden Wolf team up on animation projects

Doodles has signaled interest in producing more original animated content by buying the cartoon makers Golden Wolf.

In their announcement tweet, Doodles says the acquisition marks a "new chapter" focused on "narrative storytelling, world-building, and character development." 👀

So wen animation?

No official dates 😕 But, a report by Deadline reveals some mouthwatering plans:

• One of the first Golden Wolf collabs will be “original narrative content” that delves deeper into Doodles characters and stories.

• Doodles CEO Julian Holguin is “in discussions with several traditional media companies" to make an animated show

• Golden Wolf will make "always-on" content to be watched on social media

• There's talk of original series, video games, and new IP in partnership with "well-established Hollywood creatives."

The two companies also have wider plans. Golden Wolf says they're excited to work on Doodles projects that involve "experience design, product, fashion, and music."

What you need to know:

• Past Golden Wolf projects include a series of Rick & Morty shorts

• They were nominated for an Emmy for the titles to Disney's Ducktales reboot

• Golden Wolf and Doodles previously collabed on the Doodles2 announcement

Ledger wallet displays rolling out at Best Buy locations

Hardware wallet brand Ledger is upping its promo game in the run-up to the launch of Ledger Stax

– Stax is their new user-friendly wallet that's aimed at a broader, more mainstream audience.

Part of that marketing campaign? Making a deal with Best Buy to let consumers check out Ledger products at brick-and-mortar stores:

I love this. I don't know about you, but for any of my family members over the age of 55, buying a tech product = a trip to Best Buy.

For them, the stoned teenager with the crazy greasy hair wearing a Death Grips hoodie under their Best Buy polo is some kind of unquestionable tech guru

– and if Best Buy stocks the product, that means it's legit. 😹

Porsche didn't listen to their web3 advisors. Its mint flopped

Porsche's 911 NFT collection offers holders customizable digital models of roadsters – which are touted as being the first step on a roadmap to some vague future utility.

But details of the collection were raising eyebrows on Crypto Twitter even before the mint went live.

• The mint price was high, at 0.911 ETH (see what ya did there)

• The volume was high, at 7,500 editions

• The number of concerned community members was high

On paper, 911 was a project doing big numbers in all the wrong places.

Just look at the replies to this Tweet to see how many of Porsche's followers were waving red flags (cause a big crash was about to happen on the racetrack).

So how'd the mint go?

...Yeah. Pretty much like crypto Twitter said it would. At the time of writing, just 1856 NFTs have been minted.

And with a non-bear-market-friendly price tag, 911 NFTs are already selling on secondary markets for less than the mint amount.

This project may as well be a case study on how not to win in web3.

For a huge brand that's not exactly short on cash, Porsche was attempting to collect a big, multi-million dollar bag with this mint

– which might have been ok, if they'd clearly spelled out how they were planning to invest those profits back into the NFT community.

Instead, Porsche showed 0 interest in community building, with no active discord, no personal Twitter engagement, and no collaboration with other NFT projects.

Now, Porsche is scrambling to save their web3 plans – which, I guess, shows some level of openness to working with their community.

It's just a shame that it took the brand getting burned, and the collection losing credibility, for them to listen.

Doesn't Porsche know that all founders need to do these days is ask ChatGPT for their next move?
