🔥 NFT trades from across the year
At Decentra Daily, we take our New Year's rituals seriously.
After a 30K run across the Canadian Rockies, two hours in the sauna, and an afternoon in the cold plunge pool, we settle down for a period of deep reflection.

This year, we're meditating on 2022's best NFT trades. Which sales went down smoother than gravy on grandma's turkey?
Here's a list of our favorite sales of the year, featuring pfps, gaming, and metaverse collections...

#1 - the million dollar Bored Ape
Bored Ape #2488 was sold on June 16 for 1000 ETH, which equaled a million bucks at the time. 😌
#2488's got a cool combination of rare traits: blue-beam eyes (0.49%), trippy fur (0.77%), Hawaiian shirt (3%), and "wah" mouth (2%).
It's currently sitting in @nobody_vault's wallet, which is stuffed full of apes.

#2 - Fidenza user-generated art
Tyler Hobbs' algorithmically produced Fidenza collection contains some of the few NFT artworks that we'd actually like to hang on our living room wall.
We'd also like to be able to afford one of them. Fidenza #692 was sold back in March for 320 ETH – nearly $1m at the time.

#3 - the most desirable Punk?
I feel like CryptoPunk #2924, the ape in a hoody, says everything you need to know about pfp NFTs in a single image.
On Sept 28, deep into the bear market, somebody bought #2924 from whale @seedphrase for 3300 ETH. 😱
The question is: who’s the buyer? Their wallet was dormant for over five years before the purchase...

#4 - a super clean Squiggle flip
Two years ago, tigerwithpaws bought this rare, full-spectrum Chromie Squiggle #133 for 0.035 ETH, or about 17 bucks.
In May this year, they sold it for 229 ETH – making over $600K in profit, and wannabe NFT traders like me cry into our cans of Rockstar. 😅

#5 - Ghost Azuki
Earlier this month, Azuki #9143 sold for 150 ETH. None of its eight traits are above 5% rarity. 👀

#6 - this pack leader
In Wolf.Game, Alpha Wolves rule the mountain top, pinching sheep from lesser pups.
This Alpha 7 Wolf #8623 with a crown sold for 27 ETH a couple of weeks ago. Try explaining to your mom how someone could spend $30K on a video game character!

#7 - this plot of land
The 220 Genesis Land Plots at the center of Axie Infinity represent the most sought-after locations in the game.
On March 1st, Genesis Plot -12, -30 was sold for 210 ETH, or over half a million USD.

#8 - and this plot of land
Otherside deed #59906 is the 8th rarest plot in Yuga's metaverse and contains a 1/1 mystery potion artifact.
It was sold for 625 ETH or 2 million dollars to n0b0dy.eth (see #1), with the seller doubling their investment.
But do you realize how much land that could have bought in Arizona?

#9 - finally, an .eth address
000.eth was sold by EtheOS in July for 300 ETH, after buying it for 2.6 ETH in 2020. Not too shabby.
That makes it the 3rd most valuable .eth domain of all time.
At that price, I hope whoever bought it has a really good reason for needing a triple zero domain name!

Tweet of the day
Some smart people tell me there is an earnest smart developer community in Solana, and now that the awful opportunistic money people have been washed out, the chain has a bright future.
Hard for me to tell from outside, but I hope the community gets its fair chance to thrive🦾🦾

On the web3 wire

Web3 threads of the week
Some curated yarns from the biggest thinkers in crypto and NFTs... 🧶
From @NFT_GOD on how every mistake is a lesson in web3
Losing money without learning lessons is a mistake
Losing money while learning lessons is just tuition
Here are my 22 NFT Lessons Learned in 2022 (please learn from my mistakes):

From @TomsMetaverse on how to get into Wolf.Game
A mystery today! It seems one of my @wolfdotgame farmers has been 'moonlighting' for another man...
But who could it be? (I found appropriate music)
That's not my sheep he's guarding.

Ok, this one's a series, not a thread.
But @TomsMetaverse's short, simple videos on the basics of web3's hottest game will have you farming some passive income in no time.
Our resident wolf breeder @TwoSeven5 is Tweeting pretty regularly about Wolf Game right now. Check out his feed for strategy updates!
From @MedvedevRussiaE, an anti-capitalist wet dream
On the New Year’s Eve, everybody’s into making predictions
Many come up with futuristic hypotheses, as if competing to single out the wildest, and even the most absurd ones.
Here’s our humble contribution.
What can happen in 2023:

Not really web3, but we had to include this wild thread from the former president of the Russian Federation.
Not satisfied with a bear market and recession for 2023, Medvedev predicts next year will see a full-blown US civil war, Elon as president of the southern states, and the Euro going to zero...
From @Zeneca_33 on the year's biggest NFT stories
2022: A Year in Review (with a focus on NFTs) 🧵
1/ January
Late 2021 was a "bear market" for NFTs. As soon as it hit Jan 1st, everything started exploding. It was unexpected.
The month was largely dominated by Azuki and the "anime meta".
$SOS, $LOOKS, $GAS. Airdrop szn.

And what better way to wrap up than with a 2022 review from Twitter's most zen influencer?
There's a Tweet for each month here – because web3 moves so fast, who can remember what happened when?
That's it. Happy New Year!
